A whole month and I'm still doing it.
So far this is mostly written on a train to and from work. Now I probably shot myself in the foot starting with characters rather than mechanics since I can't look back, but now that it's done I'm having fun thinking about what I can do with it next.
This update finishes off the character archetypes list: a full 52 card deck of nonsense you can use to generate some weirdo mashup characters. There might be some duplicate ideas in there, I can't check to be sure.
Took me most of October but I finally got to writing a little about what these weirdos of yours might be doing, and where the hell they might be doing it. I assume I'm going to be adding some more sets of questions to help fill out the setting before I really try to lock down the nebulous system mechanics. Who knows, that's a problem for future me.
I've been inspired by the "fill in the blanks" setting book from the Spectaculars RPG lately so that's likely where my setting design is heading. Things will probably get a bit more chaotic after that because I don't have the structure of just listing 52 character ideas to keep me on track.
Wish me luck.
